Two opshop finds from a friend!

A good friend who also collects linen and tours opshops regularly, keeps an eye out for unfinished things for me (she doesn't stitch). She found these - this Fautleys doiley with cross stitch deer, one end nearly complete - and a Lanarte unstarted cross stitch kit.

Oh I love that little mouse chart!! I'm glad you came by and saw the tablecloth Amy sent me...I'm 'wow'd...=). There are a couple of doileys I'd like to hear what type you think they are. Sort of twisted thread design...I'm wondering if they could possibly be 'bobbin lace'. When I post a picture of them, I'll let you know and hope you'll come by & tell me what you think.

Oh wow, the doiley with the deer is incredible! I don't see that sort of theme very often. Most everything seems to be "girly" if you know what I mean. Love it! And a Lanarte kit? What a nice find!

Hi Maggie and Chelle, thanks for commenting. Maggie, if I can't identify your lace, I have friends who are much more knowledgable than me about lace, so one way or another, I should be able guide you. I look forward to seeing it!
I doubt if I will ever do the Lanarte chart, as it is not my preferred style of design, so it may well end up on eBay! But I'll keep the deer, which I love just because it is so old!

Gina, what a kind friend to find you some more pieces to do.....now I say (with a smile on my face) you are going to have to work nights to get them all done.

remember I have seen them all in those cupboards of yours. lol lol lol.

Hope you are both keeping well, we will be over as soon as we can I would enjoy a nice night "with friends"

Lee-ann, I am planning to cull some of my stash and sell it on eBay, as I have to be realistic and face the fact I will never stitch most of what I have in that wardrobe! I have emailed you direct about visiting - looking forward to it!

Hi Gina, I love M. Bastin's artwork. I have a book of her paintings, and collect her cards. That x-stitch project will look beautiful when it's done. Her mice are so cute. It's so strange reading about your hot weather when we're enjoying (??!!) another snow storm and cold temps here. Do you get snow/cold temps during your winters? CHeers Judy
